Privacy Policy

This "Privacy Policy" document aims to clarify how Igbonize Limited ("Igbonize," "We," "Our," or "Us") gathers, transmits, and stores information about users ("You," "you," "User," or "Users"). A "User" is anyone who interacts with the Platform, which is defined below. Your provision of information is voluntary, and by using the Platform after this Policy's effective date, you agree to its terms and conditions. If you disagree, please do not use the Platform.

Information We Collect

This Policy covers data collected via email, phone, the website ("Site"), mobile apps, and other services (the "Platform"). We collect your personally identifiable information ("PII") to ensure that we can provide you with the best possible service. This includes your name, address, password, zip code, email, account details, and phone number. For Students and Tutors, additional data like documentation, payment details, national ID cards, and birthdates may be collected for tax or background checks. We secure your PII with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption and store it safely as outlined in the "Data Transmission and Storage" section. We also compile non-personal data, like browser type and referring URL, to improve user experience and may share these statistics with third parties. User-generated content on social media may be public, and Igbonize cannot guarantee its privacy. Use the Platform at your own risk.

Financial Information

If you use a credit card to pay for services, Igbonize does not store your card details. Our third-party payment processor encrypts all financial data.

Data Transmission and Storage

Igbonize uses 128-bit SSL encryption to protect your data during transmission through the Platform and our network ("System"). We also encrypt sensitive data in our database and use firewalls and hardware monitoring to prevent unauthorized access. However, we cannot guarantee the security of PII and using the Platform is at your own risk.

Use of Cookies

We use cookies to enhance your experience on the Platform. Cookies are little bits of text kept on your device to tailor your experience by considering your location and preferences. These cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. No PII is stored in cookies. Disabling cookies may limit your use of some services. We use different types of cookies, including:

  • Strictly necessary cookies for core functionality.
  • Analytical or performance cookies to understand user interaction.
  • Functionality cookies to remember your preferences.
  • Targeting cookies to tailor advertising to your interests.
  • You can manage cookie preferences in your browser, although blocking all cookies may limit access to certain areas of the Platform.

Online Tracking

Igbonize does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals from browsers. Per this Privacy Policy, we use collected information to improve the Platform.

Use of Personally Identifiable Information

  • We do not sell or disclose your PII without your consent. We use PII to:
  • Provide and improve services.
  • Process transactions and billing.
  • Authenticate and identify users.
  • Communicate about security, privacy, and administrative issues.
  • Notify you about services of interest.
  • Administer and troubleshoot the Platform.

Third-party technical support providers may need access to PII but are prohibited from disclosing it. We share minimal information between tutors and students to arrange sessions. We may release non-PII data in aggregate.

Minors

Igbonize does not knowingly collect PII from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not provide any information. Parents or guardians can contact us to remove any data provided by minors. Tutoring sessions for minors should be supervised.

User Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for legal, regulatory, or business purposes. The retention period considers the data's nature, sensitivity, and potential risks. We may keep data longer if needed for legal claims or disputes.

Legal Requests and Business Transfers

We may disclose PII to comply with legal requirements or enforce our Terms of Service. In the event of a business transfer, PII may be included. Any changes in ownership affecting this Privacy Policy will be communicated to you.
